Transparent emerald-green and translucent white glass; of compressed spherical form with a slightly flared, cylindrical neck, flat lip, and recessed convex, oval foot surrounded by a protruding flat, oval foot rim; carved as a single overlay of green on white with, on one main side, a woman, holding an orchid in her hand and gazing out of a circular window at a garden scene of an ornamental rock sculpture, a plantain, and a flowering plant, with a seal, also in the overlay colour, the other main side with a ‘palindrome’ (circular poem) in seal-script characters, the narrow sides with mask-and-ring handles, the foot rim in the overlay colour
